Let's say we have Account A with a level 70 character, Account B with a level 1 character and Account C with another level 1 character, all three characters are grouped. Account B and Account C are linked, will they receive triple experience?

A: Bonus experience should only be granted if the experience is not trivial to anyone in the group. Our Quality Assurance Team is looking into reports that some of these restrictions are not consistent and hope to resolve the issue soon.

AUGH GODDAMMIT THEY'RE GOING TO NERF THE RECRUIT A FRIEND PROMO!!!!!!!!!!  (who saw that coming?)

*fumes*

I don't know how quickly this change is going to go through, but hopefully we can at least get another pair out of Zul'Farrak before it does.

Currently Tavris and Harleequinn are the levelling pair, and hit 30 last night.  If we burn them - REALLY burn them - we could get them to 40 tonight, 48 by tomorrow, which would mean that they'd be out of the instance stage and into the levelling stage.

Solae and Attero are only 18 still, and we have yet to remake Keebah and Primordial.

Dammit dammit dammit!
4th-Feb-2008 03:20 pm - The Things I Miss
drama
*  PVP Rankings.  You know, the good old days, when getting to the top of the ranking hierarchy was the greatest honor you could obtain.  When you fought alongside people who worked their way through the ranks with you, and you could see a friend or guildie achieve the coveted High Warlord / Grand Marshal title.  Those were the days when PVP meant something.

*  Single Server Battlegrounds.  Yes, the battlegroups made queue times shorter, especially for PVE servers where there's not a whole lot of PVP interest from the general populace.  But oh, how the glory days were fun, when groups of people wouldn't level so that they could stay in the same bracket as their most hated foes, when the opposition was fierce and there were the select groups of Horde and Alliance who battled it out for control of Warsong.  I remember our days back on Kirin Tor when it was essentially the same small groups of Horde and Allies who would queue up against each other, wage our epic battles, when there was a sense of honor in PVP.  That's long gone now.

*  When Twinking Wasn't Cool.  When it was rare to find someone spending all of their money on alts, simply because it was pre-Burning Crusade and money was ridiculously, stupidly hard to come by (it wasn't like you could farm Level 67 Zaxxis folks for 12-20 silver each).  The twinks were hard to come by and there certainly wasn't ridiculous amounts of them wandering around zones lower than themselves trying to find people to gank.

*  Zul'Gurub.  When guilds who couldn't quite get the numbers or makeup for Molten Core could at least get the 20 people together to run Zul'Gurub.  We honed our raiding skills there, learned to work together in a great instance with great bosses.  Zul'Gurub was a gear check but most of all, it was a teamwork check.  I miss the days when it wasn't hard to get 20 people together, even in the small guilds I used to run with.

*  Unique Pets.  Back in the day, pets used to have different attack speeds.  You would tame cats for PVP because of their super-fast attack speeds, which made them real caster killers in the battlegrounds.  I miss our pets having that sort of diversity, and not being limited to the simple choices of armor and health (and admittedly there are the resistances as well but really, was it necessary to take the attack speed away?).

*  Trade Channels.  You know, that place where we used to be able to post our WTB and WTS, and find items to purchase without having to sift through hundreds of lines of murloc movie titles, Chuck Norris jokes, guild recruitment spam, and general idiocy.  Most people won't remember it but there was a time when Trade was actually used for its intended purpose.

*  Roleplaying.  Even on an RP server you can't get it anymore.  Guilds that are RP only will very rarely do anything else, and because of this you're usually forced to make a choice - experience the game, or experience RP.

*  Killing Gold Farmers and Farmbots.  That was always fun.  There was this one in particular that used to farm Garron's Withering in Western Plaguelands, name Barbary.  I used to train-and-feign things on her all the time, just because she was a macro'd farmbot and would attack anything that came close to her.  That's something I cheated myself out of, though, because moving to a PVP server sort of guarantees you're not going to see a whole lot of bots anymore.

Levelling Alchemy sucks.
9th-Jan-2008 11:17 am - A Whole Lotta Everything
random

The last month has been a hectic one for everybody - us as players, our guild, our arena teams, everything!  I'll see if I can work in pieces and cover everything.

ARENA

Our arena teams have undergone some restructuring.  In our 2v2, Lethality left the team to work with Aevan, a Ret Paladin, in an attempt to bring up his rating high enough to get the Season 3 weapons and shoulders.  He's actually doing really well for himself, which is heartening.  For now, our 2v2 consists of myself, Fallapart, and Bonovox.

Our 3v3 has not really changed all that much.  We really don't use it except for team practice and if we're completely unable, at any point in the week, to get our 5v5 together.

Our 5v5 has undergone massive changes.  Calibur was removed from the team due to inactivity, and we ended up recruiting Humility, a Holy Paladin from our guild.  Humility then left the server, and we recruited several new people - Canteyouke (Feral Druid), Aevan (Ret Paladin), Badtz (some Tauren, I seriously don't know what he is, I think he's a Druid but don't quote me), Zallia (Holy Paladin), and Dibocal (Prot Warrior, our Guild Leader).  This is on top of myself, Fallapart, Lethal, and Bono.  The wide range of classes have allowed us to pull off some interesting combinations and amazingly enough, we've held ourselves over a 1500 rating despite switching up our team so often.  I'm looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish with this!

GUILD

Oh God, where do I start?

< Sanctum of Silence > was dissolved in a huge mess after the then-leader, Saigo, ninja'd the T4 helm piece from Prince, hearthed out of the instance, kicked all of the officers out of the guild, looted the guild bank, disbanded the guild, and then transferred servers.  This all happened while Raid 2 (which I was in at the time) was just starting a Karazhan run.  Needless to say we didn't get much Kara done that night.

The officers hauled together a charter for < Forgoten Sanctuary > (yes, misspelled) and banded the guild members together under that.  It was later changed - that evening - to < Chaos Chorus >, which is where we sit now.

Kinamai was made our Guild Leader, and for a while it seemed as if things were going to go smoothly and we would settle down into life without Saigo (which wasn't that hard, to be honest, nobody liked him that much anyway).  We managed to resurrect the Raid 1 and Raid 2 groups, but that all promptly went to hell when all the conflict started between groups.  Basically Raid 1 (which ran earlier for the East Coast people) didn't have enough to consistently make their raids happen - Raid 2 did.  This caused some animosity because really, Raid 2 had more than enough people, but those people didn't want to save themselves to Raid 1's instance because they preferred raiding with Raid 2.  You can see where this is going.

It was all quickly overshadowed by Kinamai transferring servers.  No announcement, nothing.  He up and left, and took several people with him, including Humility (one of our 5v5 members) and Dallia (the Hunter class leader).  After Kinamai's departure it seemed a lot of people lost faith in the guild and left for other groups, many joining Venom, BloodReavers, and other guilds.

What's left is still < Chaos Chorus >, but we're a much smaller, much more confined guild now.  At one time, when we were Sanctum, we had enough people to start into 25 man content.  Now, getting a group for Karazhan is tough, and was only made more difficult with the Christmas holidays.  But we're still here, and that's what counts - we might be small but we're still pushing, and now that it's the new year we're back into raiding under Dibocal's command.

CHRISTMAS AND THE GREAT ACCOUNT HACK

I took a long break from the game over Christmas - I stopped playing around the 19th and didn't actually really get back into the game until this evening, though I logged in a couple times in the past few days to work myself back into the routine.

However, I found out that while I was taking my hiatus from the game SOMEONE was logging into my account.  But get this - nothing was taken.  No money, no items, NOTHING.  Whoever it was said some weird shit to some of the people on my friend's list but never took a single copper off my account.  I checked every one of my characters on my account, and all were good.

I never did find out who it was, obviously.  I changed my password, and Jeff changed both his and our joint account's as well, and nothing else came of it.  Seems like it was an isolated incident and hopefully I won't have to worry about it anymore.

It's nice to be back into the groove of the game again.  I missed it.

GEAR AND STUFF

Nothing much has changed gear-wise due to taking a break from the game.  I scored the T4 helm on my last Prince kill, which was awesome, and when I got back from my time off picked up a Relentless Earthstorm Diamond for the meta.  I'm shifting Saelym away from her AP-heavy gear and enchants and trying to focus more on AGI, which should be easier once I start spending the money to stock up on her enchants.

I'm also 6 days away from my Season 3 Waraxe, which I'm freaking out about.  Just have to gather the mats now for the 35 AGI enchant and I'm set!

Just last night, Jeff got into the Kara run and got the T4 glove token off Curator.  The gloves aren't a huge upgrade for him, but at least they look a hell of a lot better than his Cobrascale Gauntlets!

And in awesome news, Darryl just got his epic flying mount, the first one of the WCC to pick it up.  We were pretty psyched for him, and now he's spending all of his "not raiding / pvp-ing" time grinding Netherwing rep for his Netherdrake.  I'm still nowhere close to my epic, though I also need to grind a huge amount of Cenarion Expedition rep to get my hippogriff, so hopefully somewhere in there I'll pick up the money necessary for my riding skill.  But I told myself I'm not getting my epic until Jeff gets his too, so there's much grinding to be done (oh geez 10k gold between us!  *cringe*).

Heather has retired Anashya in favor of her Rogue, Kaillech, who she's levelling right now under the < Thunderlord Clan > banner.  She's already passed the 45 mark... go Roguelette go!  She's just flying through the levels and I'm guessing it won't be long until she hits Outland herself.

ALTS

Not too much new on the alt front.  I've been playing with Taika, my Shaman, a little.  A little being not that much at all.  She's an interesting class but I really don't like it as much as, say, a Warlock or a Druid.

Akema is 47 and camped out in Tanaris, randomly questing when I feel like it.  I'm going to try and catch her up to Incindia's level (52) and then the two of them can quest together / hit Outland together when Jeff and I feel like alting it up a little.  I'd love to have another 70 and it NOT be a Hunter!

Taetra, psycho little Warlock, is 23.  I'm holding off on levelling her further so that she can go up with Tristyn, Jeff's Warlock, who's 22 at the moment.

I've decided to start dividing topics so that these posts are easier to follow, and so that individual userpics can be associated with the type of post.  This won't affect previous posts as I really don't have the patience to go back and edit the userpics.

This icon is for posts about PVP (battlegrounds and world) and Arena.

This icon is for the just standard, regular posts that don't fit under any other category.

This icon is for RP entries (ones written in character in novel or journal form).

This icon is for entries about the West Coast Crew - what we're doing as players.

This icon is for drama posts - guild drama, player drama, instance drama, that sort of thing.

This icon is for instancing, raiding, grinding, rep / faction stuff... the usual PVE shite.

23rd-Nov-2006 09:57 am - new keyboard!
random
last night was kind of quiet. Jeff picked me up and since we had to do some grocery shopping but were starving, we decided to hit Gerry T's for dinner. there was a Canucks game on but it was almost over, and we got to watch them win in overtime. had a fabulous dinner and headed out to London Drugs where i splurged and bought myself a new keyboard! yay, i have a keyboard that works! it's quite a pretty one, a Logitech media board with all the Media Player buttons across the top, and it was on sale to boot. the guy at London Drugs remembered that i play WoW too! *laughs* we chatted for a bit about the new patch coming out (Hunter nerf... *cries*) before we realized that everyone was looking at us like we were total geeks, and then Jeff and i left.
19th-Nov-2006 09:55 am - my stupid broken keyboard
random

i also found out last night that there are three keys not working on my keyboard... the 5 in my regular number row, the CTRL on the left side of my keyboard, and the F1 key. this wouldn't be such a big deal if not for the fact my World of Warcraft keyset is HIGHLY dependent on those keys! the 5 is my Arcane Shot with Kesryn, which is perhaps my most highly used Hunter shot, and is also my Healing Touch with Myene, which is her largest Druid heal. i've had to shift all my keys around as a result and it's totally messed me up. :P the CTRL on my left is the one i use with CTRL+2 to call my pet back when he's going after something i don't want him to attack, not to mention it's the CTRL i use with backspace to delete entire words. AND my F1 button is shot, which is the button to target yourself, especially important if you're a Druid and want to self-buff. *makes a face*

and that was far more ranting than necessary to express my displeasure over three broken buttons. it just means that i have to spend money to buy a new keyboard, and i kind of didn't want to do that.

15th-May-2006 10:41 am - late nights are FUN

last night i went and sat on the couch with Jeff. then we talked a bit. then we played WoW some more. i gloated about my superior levelling skills and he told me i was a bad hunter. then we suddenly decided at 10:30 pm that it was a good time to go to Safeway and get groceries. got home at 11:30, played WoW some more, at chip and cake and milk and generally were horribly bad with what had been turning out to be a good eat-at-home diet. and like i said, went to bed at 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning. conked out. the end.
